Terms of Service
The plain-language terms for using Origami Finance. No dense legalese — just what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.
Last updated: July 2026
This page explains our terms in everyday language. It is a summary of how the service works and is not legal advice.
The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and Origami Consulting Group (PTY) LTD (registration 2022/887986/07), the company behind Origami Finance, for your use of the Origami Finance service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Origami Finance.
We have written them in plain language so they are easy to follow. Where “we”, “us” or “our” appears it means Origami Consulting Group (PTY) LTD; “you” means the person or business using the service.
The service
Origami Finance is software that helps small businesses create and send invoices and quotes, track payments, and keep a simple picture of their finances. It is a tool to make your admin faster and tidier.
You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter — amounts, VAT rates, client details and descriptions — and for meeting your own tax and SARS obligations. Origami Finance helps you produce correct-looking tax invoices, but it does not replace your accountant or the professional advice you may need for your own affairs.
Free trial and subscription
Every account starts with a 30-day free trial. No card is required to begin, and nothing is charged during the trial.
After the trial, continued use costs R99 per month, billed securely through PayFast. If you subscribed earlier at a lower price, you keep that price for as long as your subscription stays active. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it. We will never quietly charge you before your free trial has ended.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your account. When you cancel, your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops. We do not offer refunds for partial or unused periods, and there are no cancellation fees.
Acceptable use
Please use Origami Finance lawfully and honestly. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, not to misuse or abuse it, and not to attempt to breach, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the system or to other users’ data.
Your account is yours to look after. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity that happens under your account.
Availability
We aim for high uptime and work to keep Origami Finance running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or entirely free of faults. From time to time we may need to carry out maintenance or make changes that briefly affect availability.
Liability
Origami Finance is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by South African law, our liability to you for any loss arising from your use of the service is limited. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, when we add features or when the law changes. When we do, we will post the revised terms here and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Origami Finance after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute relating to them or to your use of Origami Finance will be dealt with under South African law.
